Fullspeed in ET ! ... ?

Postby Ludo » 19. July 2010, 20:00

Hello everybody,

Just a short introduction of me before start my subject. My name is Ludovic "Ludo" Marquet, I'm French, and I play TMN since 2006...only on Fullspeed maps. Actually, I'm in Power-Gaming Fullspeed squad.

I'm here to talk you about Fullspeed. "About what ?", Fullspeed ! On TMN ESWC, the Fullspeed was only a way to relax yourself, before go back on hard Tech maps. Many Fullspeed maps like Sticky Tarmac, Brown Stains, Flow, Moving power, Ride ... are maps which are part of the TMN history (most awarded maps on TMX). On TMN ESWC, these maps were very easy, and funny to drive, but since TMNF, the Fullspeed has got his own revolution, like an anarchy: the Fullspeed is become harder than ever ! If your memories of the Fullspeed are "Smooth maps", "Press forward", "Just keep good curves, and closes turns" ... you're now TOTALLY wrong ! Drifts were like the Hell for a Fullspeed driver ... they are now his best friends ! Like on Tech, the difference between good and less good players are now like a freaky hole ! You have to control each little tricks, to have a constant look on your speed, to know exactly when to drift, and when not ...

Since 2009, the Fullspeed is growing up at an insane speed ( :] ) ! We have a lot of tournaments on the ESL (1on1, 2on2, Teams, and even a Premierships section, the third season was just over 2/3 months ago). Big teams like n!faculty or Power-Gaming, have their own Speed squad, and the Fullspeed is today, a real way to play, and a strong community (List of all actives teams in the Fullspeed scene, around 130 teams: http://www.r4b-esport.com/index.php?file=Forum&page=viewtopic&forum_id=9&thread_id=153).

The ESL, with Speed Premierships, are one of the Biggest event on Fullspeed at the moment ... but for the whole TMNF scene, the ET is more representative for Trackmania, than the ESL. That's why, I asked myself, if the ET could accept the Fullspeed in his home, and creat tournaments like STC, or NC ... in Fullspeed !

A lot of people are seeing the Fullspeed grow up, like it was the case for the Tech, many years ago, and with all these players and teams, who are ready to show us the Fullspeed like a real and different way to drive, I think there's something we have to do !

Best regards,
Ludo, ESL Admin.

To make a real reply:

We only just have enough TMN admin capacity to run our current tournaments as it is. I'm not an ET manager but I don't think an additional tournament with the current staff would be possible. So we would need to recruit, but it's already difficult to find good admins for 'regular' tech tournaments...

Finding admins for a completely different discipline, played by almost none of the people who are familiar with ET (which is very important to be an admin here) seems impossible to me. But maybe the management can look into it. I think that's the main problem here, ET and the fullspeed community aren't very connected, and most ET players and admins would be against even associating with them (on the TMU side at least) :P

We can't be connected if nobody cause this connection.
For Admins, the ESL has the same problem, but at the moment, there's an Admin staff for each discipline (Tech staff, Speed staff, and Dirt staff), but I'm agree to say that the FS community isn't really familiar with ET. Advertisement ?
